Domestic Ecology
Solutions for everyday living.

Why
Where you spend your time is one of the biggest influences on how you feel and function. Streamlining and organizing to create a more efficient living space will allow you to spend more time doing the things you love and less time on repetitive tasks that aren’t getting you where you want to go.
Do you feel overwhelmed when you walk in the door?
Want to make changes but don’t know where to start?
Have you been staring at your “to do” list for so long it’s become “to avoid”?
Do you want to feel better and do more?
Need a fresh start after a move or life change?
Despite our best intentions, clutter is an equal opportunist and happens to us all. There is no shame in asking for help, and a little can go a long way!

What
We will work together to create an environment that reflects your individuality, allows space for the things most important to you, and build systems that work for you. This process will turn your home into a welcoming retreat from the world outside, whether that means quiet and focused or vibrant and inviting. Each project is a reflection of the unique needs and goals of each client.
I offer a creative and personalized approach for everything from organizing a closet or room, to a whole home makeover. I will meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to be.
Kitchen, pantry, garage, bedrooms, guest room, living areas, every space you call your place.

Who
Designing from the ground up in the world of high end residential architecture can be exciting, but what has always brought me the most satisfaction is working closely with my clients through the everyday details of their space, routines, and belongings to create a more streamlined environment in which to thrive rather than just live.
Through this practice I am able to combine my skills as a designer, background in art and architecture, and passion for efficiency together to bring the benefits of thoughtful design to more people than can be reached through architecture alone.
My work is a judgement free zone. I understand how difficult it can be to invite a stranger into your home and strive to interact in a respectful and supportive capacity with all my clients.

How
Introductory Call/Video Conference: a free, no commitment personal consultation via phone or video conference to assess where you’re at, what your goals are, and the ways I can help you reach them.
What’s working, what’s not?
How does your space make you feel?
What does your daily routine look like?
Do you feel your space represents you?
What do you hope this process will help you achieve?
Don’t worry if you don’t have all the answers, working through questions like these can be an excellent place for us to start!
Initial Visit:
We’ll spend some time walking through your space digging into the why, what, and how of your physical stuff, and sometimes the emotional “stuff” behind it. Together we’ll refine goals, establish a budget, and devise a plan!
Digging In:
Whether it’s a file cabinet, closet, office, creative space, garage, a few rooms, or your whole home, the process is the same:
Assessing/Goals - What are your priorities? What are the obstacles?
Sorting - Grouping items by various categories it’s easier to see what you have vs what you need, and what storage systems will work best for you.
Purging - This step is by no means required, but most people find at least a few items during this process that no longer fit their life or vision. There is no pressure to give anything up, but I am happy to assist with thoughtful questions and guidance if you are looking to downsize.
Organizing - finding ways to keep what you do use and love close at hand in a way that’s easy to maintain.
I’ll design a personalized plan that fits your family and your lifestyle, from the day to day to the larger long term goals that can get lost amid our clutter and good intentions. The right questions, offered with support and without judgement to help you choose what goes, what stays, and where to put it!
